About Silkair

Formerly known as Tradewinds Airline and founded on February 21, 1989 started as a regional charter company. It used aircrafts which were predominantly hired from its parent company Singapore Airlines and served only leisure destinations. It was later renamed as SilkAir on April 1, 1992 and it transformed from a holiday resort airline to a complete regional airline.

Silkair Baggage Information

Checked Baggage
The maximum weight allowance for checked baggage differs on the basis of class of flight. For economy class the maximum limit is 20 kgs whereas for Business Class it is 30 kgs. Additionally infants are permitted to carry 10 kgs of free checked in baggage. They may also carry one fully collapsible pushchair/stroller or infant car seat.

Carry on bags
