I booked executive room in misty green home stay for two days via goibibo. This place is run by aunti maggie. I reached misty green on 19 December 2014, it is in the center of kumily town near periyar meadows hotel. When I reached to misty green, it was raining and Aunti Maggie was waiting for us(I called in advanced) and our non ac room was ready. Room was ready which was spacious with TV, double bed, clean actually very clean linens. Attached bathroom has 24 hours hot water supply. We occupied the room and Aunti Maggie prepared tea and welcomed by Christmas cake. She helped in getting the tickets for marshal art show. She prepared morning and evening tea. She helped in giving milk to my baby. She has very humble and helpful nature. You are totally dependent on her for At the time if checkout she refused to take bill of the tea I took (7 cup tea). if you want to take experience of staying in homestay than u are welcomed. It is my first time I stayed in homestay. One important thing I need to share. In thekaddy and kumily, 90% restaurants selling non vegetarian food, its ok , but ***is available on all non vegetarian restaurant. All vegetarian restaurants are of MARWARI, food is of low quality and high priced. So you can stay in home stay to get pure and veg food

Me and 2 of my friends from Gujarat visited Thekkady this winter and enjoyed wonderful stay at Misty Green Homestay. A little different venue than most. Very comfortable, clean rooms with private bathrooms in each room. The host Maggie & Felix were one of the best hosts we had on our trip with interesting information and the true gift of kerala hospitality. Tasty homemade traditional Keralite cuisine lunch and dinner made for a great start of Thekkady visit. The tiger reserve & the lake are close by, but the location is peaceful and its beautiful time when you walk from homestay to explore the kumily town . On top of all that, the price is right too. the homestay is in kumily.... it was Christmas when we reached.. The house had a beautifully decorated Christmas tree..the rooms and washrooms are spacious and clean..as soon as we entered , there was an amazing smell of chocolates inside the home.. the owners let us taste some and we bought some chocolates too.. The owners are really nice.. one of our friends for feeling sick.. they themselves shared the number of a doctor.. while we were heading back they suggested that we go to "paranthampara" and vagamon while our further way to varkala.. we went to the former and it was probably the best thing we saw in Kerala.. PS : the owners and the chocolates are amazing ..

It was the first time I opted for a Homestay and I can say that it was for best experience.. The rooms are soo very well maintained and full marks to cleanliness.. Location of Homestay is an added advantage.. It's hardly 15-20 steps from periyar ticket counter.. The host couple were very friendly.. . Shared so much facts at the breakfast table.. We felt that we r part of family... The breakfast was yummy home made food with some mouthlickering hand made chocolates served with the breakfast.. I will give full marks to the hospitality to rooms to everything..

Arriving at Mistygreen homestay we found a beautiful clean home in which we were immediately made to feel welcome by Felix & Maggie. The room was well laid out, modern and clean. Felix uncle and Maggie aunty were the best hosts we have ever had in the whole world... Felix uncle is a humble man and takes keen interest to provide his guests with every kind of comfort. The fresh wholesome home cooked meals by Maggie aunty were an absolute bonus of our trip... Its not only the taste, its the love with which they want you to enjoy food matters so much...

It was really great experience to stay at Mistygreen homestay. The place is serene, comfortable and clean.This has to be one of the more beautiful places in the world, and Mrs. Maggie will make sure you get the most out of your stay. Lovely homestay set in beautiful lush gardens. The highlights here, apart from the gorgeous setting, are Maggie's cooking (amazing), conversation (highly engaging) and her knowledge of local attractions and amenities. We really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended.

Awesome place, much better than any nearby budget hotel... place is well maintained by Maggie Aunty, i wish i had stayed more at Thekkady for such was the ambience of the place.. Homestay is very near to the bus stop from where one can get bus tickets to go for periyar reserve.. we also watched a Kalaripayattu show in the evening ( one can also watch Kathakali performance). Rooms were clean, and breakfast prepared but aunty was good.. will definitely stay there again when i go back..

it was awesome experience at hotel. i m reviewing it late. but the owner and host of hotel was fantastic.Mr Felix very jolly person and very helpful. location of hotel is fantastic at prime point and every tourist place is near from this hotel. cleanness and amenities were excellent and all time available. owner also arranged passes for kalaripattu and mohiniattam with front row seats. thank you mr.felix from Mr. Insurance family.

The location was excellent for all the things you would want to do in Thekkady. The room was very nice and clean. The owner was very helpful in organizing everything I wanted to do while I was in Thekkady. Everything was set up very quickly and I was on way to a show, elephants, and the river ride before I knew it. I would highly recommend this place for your next visit to Thekkady.

The rooms are very spacious, modern, trendy and very clean and comfortable. Strongly recommend this home stay.We found the location pretty convenient. You're a short walk away from all important site seeing- Elephant safari, Ayurveda massage, Kathakali show, Market etc. We only stayed for 2 nights, but we were absolutely charmed by teh service here.

we stayed two nights. first floor room is very good. hosts are good. caretaker is also very good. feel like you are at your home. excellent location benefit. one should experience once atleast. hosts need to upgrade ground floor rooms. i recommend to stay here. very different and unique dishes in the breakfast. very tasty too.

very neat and clean well maintained rooms, little small in size but family of 3-4 can adjust. Owner is very helpful & she prepares as she guided us for everything and booked tickets for elephant ride. she prepares & sells homemade chocolates which are very delicious. nearby few north Indian veg hotels are there.

Stay was pleasant and host were very good. We stayed there at Christmas time so house was also decorated which made it look even better. Rooms and linens were clean and good. Best thing was that tea was served to as even when we checked out at 6 in morning.
