Shahbaaz Group of Houseboats

My stay at Shahbaaz Houseboat was simply awesome from the start to the end, and i wished i could return to stay longer! We arrived at the houseboat by Shikara and Mr. Masood (our caring host & caretaker) welcomed us with kasmiri tea, yummy cookies and a warm smile. He said to treat the houseboat like our home during the stay and indeed, it felt just like home (amid a paradise though)! Meals are prepared according to our likes and we can request for particular food that we want to eat. The houseboat is very comfortable and clean. The furnishing is great too and i enjoyed reading the books and letters from other visitors. Sitting on the veranda that overlooks the himalayan mountains in the background made us feel so at bliss! PS: This is a great place for catching sunrise! My friends and i woke up early every day to catch the sunrise and sometimes, we were so early we even woke mr. masood (sorry!) who was sleeping in the common room. There's also a plateform in front of houseboat that's great for evening picnics or just to take a relaxing walk. Tours were well-planned and our driver, Mr. Ashiq, was the nicest guide ever! The owners of the houseboat also sell great quality (value for money) pashminas, carpets and bedsheets etc. Beautiful design. :) Highly Recommended

It's a good houseboat in most easily accessible location. The best part of houseboat is its staff and their hospitality. You won't feel away from home due to well mannered and extremely courteous and helpful staff. Right from Check In, Room service one experiences a zeal amongst them to serve customers which is lacking in many other hotels or houseboats of any star ratings. Masood, Arshid , and Rameez work on their toes to feel you comfortable and enjoy your stay. I shall come here whenever I visit Srinagar. Excelant food

worst experience during entire Kashmir trip, it's very old houseboat without maintenance of trained staff. they charged good amount for food, and provided just one option Poha and chai in breakfast. also lot of disturbance of people walking around, couldn't even sleep peacefully.

very beautiful houseboat and houseboy was very nice and decent. His name was Rameez and he took care of all our needs. My stay was just awesome. thanks for such a hospitality.
