Germany Travel Restrictions

ELIGIBILITY & VISA REQUIREMENT

  • Indian nationals
  • Residents of Germany, foreign nationals destined for EU/Schengen area, South America or Africa only and transiting through Germany or spouses of these persons, whether accompanying or otherwise.
  • Seamen of foreign nationalities and Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping. Seamen should be destined for countries in the EU/Schengen area, South America or Africa only.

    • RTPCR TEST, QUARANTINE & VACCINATION REQUIREMENT:
  • No RTPCR test required from India, if fully vaccinated (only Covishield), at least 14 days before departure.
  • All passengers over 6 years must carry a negative COVID-19 test result, conducted within 72 hours before departure.
  • Passengers must proceed directly to their own home/accommodation immediately after arrival and quarantine for 10 days. Those transiting through Germany do not have to quarantine.
  • 10 days quarantine, if tested positive on arrival.
  • 10-day quarantine may be lifted after day 5, following a negative test result,
  • Those who have stayed/ transited through a high risk area within the last 14 days before entry into Germany, must proceed directly to their destination in Germany.

    • PASSENGER OBLIGATION:
  • On arrival, all passengers will need to show a ‘Proof of Eligibility’ at the immigration point in Germany. For example, a copy of the Marriage (registration) Certificate, Passport and Residence Permit of the spouse residing in Germany or certificate issued by an employer or university confirming that the traveller’s presence is required in Germany can be shown as proof.
  • It is mandatory to wear a face mask while travelling to any shop or restaurant in Germany and on public transport. Passengers must wear a surgical mask, FFP2 mask or a KN95/N95 standard mask during boarding and de-boarding.
  • A self-declaration form (2 copies) must be filled by all passengers exiting India,
  • It is advisable to download the Corona-Warn-App that gives information on where there is a Covid-infected person nearby. Download link.
