This is extra small size houseboat in daal lake. Rooms are very small. Even two persons are not able adjusted in one bed. They took booking for 3 person in one room. But they arranged one person in common dining hall. Even beds are not comfortable. Bathroom flush was not working. I have attached those pics also. One more important point, each time you need to pay Rs100 to shikara when you will go to Dal gate to Houseboat. Whether in other houseboat usually they don't charge this shikara charge. I just gave two ratings because of cleanliness and host's polite behaviour. If you have very low budget to stay and you are not getting any other houseboat option then consider this HB Calcutta. Otherwise I will not recommend to stay others here.

it is good to stay with less amount rent, but I personally suggest this property not for couple or family, the owner not assure your privacy( during my visit I asked for room key but he refused to give, he say no one here to enter your room, but when we out ,the owner enter our rooms and checks everythinks, ) they needs lots of improvement, if they really wants to Run the property , Best of luck for the Houseboat Calcutta. Rest All okay and Superb for bachelor/Solo traveller

Wow what a beautiful HouseBoat and a very loving host Bashir and his family. They made me feel like home. They served me Authentic Kashmiri food. And Kashmiri Kahwa made by aunty, I will never forget. In evening Bashir Uncle took me for lake round in his shikara, and I had a great conversation with him about Kashmiri local life. This place will always have a special place in my heart.Thank you for such a lovely hospitality. Hope to see you very soon

This is my very true review about HB New Calcutta.. actually don't call it houseboat, it's just small boat. Where family is residing adjacent to boat.. it's Very small boat, Very back of Dal lake and it's not for family. Only good thing is Owner of boat.. he is good but he not respect privacy, will keep disturbing you.. Family should avoid it 100% , Good for Bachelor's due to cheap pricing
