Hotel Grand Mahal

Check-in and checkout was fine but the thing is the room quality was bad because they said we will upgrade your room but there was no fridge in the room. The basic amenities weren't there at the price i paid for it. 1. All the 3 days i stayed there in the room but the keys wasn't working for bathroom. I need to call these guys and they used to open it. 2. I specifically booked the AC room but one of the night the Ac wasn't working then i called these person no one picked up the call. So i have to walk all the way down to the reception to get a person to get it rectify and that guy said its midnight and said open the window and sleep. I even told him that i m not staying in a lodge, i paid for it. So i need the basic courtesy and basic amenities for which i paid for. Instead of feeling sorry they said no the Ac isn't Working we don't..... but later since i shouted at him saying that it is not good on their path because i said them to change my room, they said that no rooms are available that's why i went to the off peak time, i myself thought that rooms are available, they said no rooms are available. Then the manager himself came and then he called a person, they spent 1 hour at night from 12 to 12:45 to rectify the AC. These persons are rectifying the Ac at the mid night, and first person never apologized and he said you just open the window, we will not be able to rectify it. I m paying for an AC room but they are saying like this then its pretty bad. 3. The Food Spread was pathetic. Luckily i opted for the breakfast because i didn't want to take for a AC plan, i just took the breakfast Plan. They never had anything hot, they even didn't have any juices and all, nothing was proper or organised. In this hotel the rooms were neat and clean and everything was clean but the only thing is its services are very poor. Quality and all everything was good but the thing is Geyser wasn't working, AC not working. Sad part is that on 3rd day, the previous night i thought AC is not working and no room is available. Then next day in the morning time i called them that the Geyser is not working. Then they opened the next rooms key and they told that you can take bath in another room. At night in the midnight they told they don't have rooms, morning 7 o'clock they are saying this room is free you can take bath in this. I don't understand what kinda management and other things. But the services are pathetic in this hotel.

Overall my stay in this hotel was fine and good...but the thing that disappointed was the internet facility as it was mentioned on the their website but they didn't provide us with WiFi facility...which is really important for any people to get connected with their distant sitting people...because this property is slightly away from the city and easily reachable to shalima garden...I didn't have my food there...and this property well suited for family more as compared business as the very prime and basic amenities that is WiFi was missing...!

the hotel is located around 5km from the main point of shikhara ride although there is one ghat which is closer around 2km but that's not the Main ghat for ride. the Mughal garden is also around 2km . so basically u hav to take taxi everytime to reach market or dal Lake area which is expensive. the hotel itself is clean n rooms r big but the furniture is v old but manageable. Mr imtiaz at front desk is v helpful n cooperative . also the food is good in taste but the breakfast buffet doesn't hav much to offer. so overall an ok stay

A Budget Hotel The hotel is 7 km away from the dal gate, so we need to travel at least 20 minutes every time to reach the main area. Other than this, this is a perfect place to stay without burning your wallet. Rooms are spacious and have room heaters(will work only at night). 24 hours hot water is available. In house restaurant is there and the food is good. Room service and laundry services are available. Hotel workers are very polite and helpful. You can consider this hotel, if you have a car with you all the time.
