The Shatabdi Express, alongside Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express, is considered one of the most prestigious trains owned and managed by the Indian Railways. It is mainly used by the passengers to cover short to medium distances for pilgrimage, tourism, and business purposes.
Shatabdi Express trains cover their journey within a single day and come back to their source stations that day only. It is one of the super-fast trains of India that are meant to run for short to medium distances. Like other super fast trains of the Indian Railways, Shatabdi Express also has only a handful of halt stops during its entire journey. Anubhuti (EA) is a new travel class introduced by Indian Railways on Shatabdi trains. This is a luxury Chair Car class, more like the business class in flights, with more space and legroom. Each seat is equipped with an infotainment screen, just like on flights. Anubhuti coaches also have plush upholstery, seats with better ergonomics, reading lights, and a call button for attendants.
