UK Travel Restrictions

ELIGIBILITY & VISA REQUIREMENT

  • Indians with valid UK visa, including a tourist visa.
  • UK nationals.
  • Indian nationals are not allowed to travel beyond UK, unless their spouse is a foreign national or they are a seaman travelling with authorised documentation from the Ministry of Shipping.

  • RTPCR TEST & VACCINATION REQUIREMENT:
  • MANDATORY negative RTPCR test report, not taken more than 3 days prior to departure. Children under 11 are exempt from this rule.
  • Additionally, you will need to also book and pay for COVID-19 tests which are to be taken on/before day 2 and on/after day 8 after your arrival to England. Violation of these rules will attract heavy fines and penalties.
  • Most travellers from India are required to quarantine at home or in their place of stay for 10 days. Two tests will be administered on Day 2 and Day 8 of your quarantine.
  • People exempt from above rule are Indians who are under 18 on the day of arrival in England and UK residents. The exempt people must have had their final dose of the vaccine at least 14 whole days before arrival. They are still required to book and take a day 2 test.
  • If a traveller tests positive at any point during the stay, they must quarantine for 10 days from the day test was taken. On day 8, the traveller will need to take a COVID-19 test unless they have received a positive result from the day 2 test. Receiving a positive result from the day 2 test means further tests will not be required. If the traveller has been quarantined for 10 days and has received a negative result to both tests, they may then end their quarantine.

  • PASSENGER OBLIGATION:
  • All arriving and transiting passengers in the UK must fill a passenger locator form online, 48 hours before arrival - https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk For this you’ll need:

  • your travel details, including times and dates.
  • destination address in the UK.
  • booking reference numbers for any COVID-19 tests you must take after arriving in the UK.
  • the invoice number for your quarantine hotel booking.
