Hotel Dreamland,Darjeeling

It's a very poor hotel with no welcoming by the hotel staffs. Location - Pretty far away from the Mall. Situated about 700m from Raj Bhawan. No cars are allowed near the hotel door, so we need to carry the luggage by bare foot on our own. Mobile connectivity/ reception of signal is not at all good inside the hotel. (Airtel & Vodafone). Only 2G will work. Food - Food quality is very spicy and oily. It's not that great food. Prices are very high as compared to the quality. Above all the restaurant ambience is poor. So, we have dine at room only paying 5% as room service and also menu cards provided at rooms quotes that prices are including tax. But at the time of check-out we come to know that the prices are excluding all taxes. Ultimately, we had to pay 14.5% VAT + 5% service charge. Rooms - Most terrible rooms of all hotels that you may find at Darjeeling. We stayed at non view rooms which are worthless. We found that rooms are in poor condition with walls are dump and furniture are full of dust and room is dirty with bed sheets are not fresh. When complained the hotel manager changed our room to other non view room. But again this is also poor. Hotel intercom is sometimes does not work, TV screen is damaged. Please see the photos. When I extend my stay at Darjeeling, the manager asks me to get a hard copy(print out) of the booking done through Goibibo. But when complained this to ***** customer care, then only the hotel manager agreed that print out copy of booking is not required. Also, we have to pay some municipality charge as tourist fee collected by the hotel manager.

This location of the hotel is just perfect !!! Its not so far from the famous Mall and the legendary eateries.. although you will find yourself quite distant from the hustle-bustle of those places while staying at the hotel. You will have the clear view of mighty Kangchenjunga from your room (if you opt for the view room & if the sky is clear ;-) ). Food is good. Try Chinese rather than Indian. Room service is just OK. Power & water supply is satisfactory, which is a major concern in Darjeeling. The only concern about the hotel is the size of the room. Its really small particularly in this price range. But the view from your room will make up for that. Hotel authority (specially Mr. Ranjit Biswas) is very helpful. He arranged a pickup for us from NJP (which is recommended if you are new in town).

Our stay in Dreamland was pleasant. Location of hotel is nice but no car will reach at hotel's entrance gate.it's around 10+ min walking from mall area.we stayed in 1st floor view room.but view from this room was not so good.it's better to not take room in 1st floor. Food quality also good and all type of Bengali food is available here.Room service also nice.But room size is very small.One more thing about check-out timing.** mentioned 12pm.But hotel authority mentioned 11am. It should be in sync with ** and hotel so that guests can plan accordingly.In 2 day's stay,one morning we started our day hearing the noise of quarrel between hotel authority and kitchen staff.Management should keep it mind about the problem of guests staying in the room...

good one ... only point that I want to remind goibigo not sync with hotel's room availability so doing booking through goibigo is very risky . i paid extra money to ****** due to this issue and there after not a single person i got from goibigo to support and help me to get money back quickly . So my recommendation should always go to this hotel due to location and behavior but try to avoid room in 1st floor because you have to go down . reception is in fifth floor . simple or Indian type preparation was good however try to avoid Chinese preparation .
