Gohill Orchid has got a pretty good review on Google Maps, even though this residence is new on Goibibo listing, I decided to give it a try. Firstly, it is kind of remote for tourists who are looking to hover around MG Market. It's in Forest Colony area and around 20 minutes walk away from the market. Let's get to the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Incredibly inviting atmosphere with the caretaker Mr. Dikendra Gurung being a warm host, who'd smile and hold conversations and make you feel welcome 2. This residence is set up as dormitories with the owners also sharing the same premise and using the common bathroom and kitchen, you'd get a feel of being with a local family, for me it was a plus 3. Located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood 4. The big varanda was so peaceful, you could sit there and chill with them over drinks and your time will fly 5. Good views 6. Even though I booked dorm, I got a private room with 2 single beds 7. WIFI! I didn't expect it, and at times it didn't work, but I am glad it was there. 8. It was quite inexpensive and affordable Cons: 1. Room I got was quiet small 2. There was no supply of water, they had a gravity filter installed but it didn't work adequately so I had to rely on bottled water 3. The room I got was quite small and dingy 4. Shared bathroom, at times it was occupied when I really needed to go but I couldn't because the owners are quite a few people and it was occupied. Overall, a great place to stay if you're travelling solo and on a budget, not only you get to stay in such a peaceful property, you'd befriend the warm hosts pretty easily. But if you're in for a hotel-like all amenities provided experience and with family. I'd suggest skip this one. It was peaceful and quite affordable. A good choice for me.
