POZ INN DARJEELING

I booked the hotel for stay for my family vacation trip from 23.05.2022 to 28.05.2022. I come to know through mobile phone on 22.05.2022 around 4 o clock in the evening that the hotel canceled the booking last minute even after paying upfront, Total rent plus tax. The reason cited was the rates offered was not acceptable to them. As it was peak tourist season they might have got a better rent from someone else. But what about business ethics? It is okay to hike rent when the demand is high, but once a deal is made, Is this the way to approach. In my case, after this cancelation, I were kept on the heels till I got another reservation. I had traveled 2500kms to reach Darjeeling to keep my family with two infant kids in the dark about the reservation for lodging will happen or not. I were put in huge mental agony by the Hotel for that matter of fact, even after successful payment of total rent and taxes upfront. I were there for a family vacation to have a relaxed and wonderful experience of Darjeeling. But to my dismay and utter displeasure, I was put into a situation I am uncomfortable with for a day, till another homestay (please note that a home stay is not the same as a hotel and the amenities provided are also not the same in a home stay compared to a hotel) was arranged 4 kms away from the hotel for which I had to shell out extra money, time and efforts for traveling. I booked the hotel seeing the location, rating, rooms, amenities provided etc which was not same, in a homestay. The homestay provided as a substitute for the hotel booking didn't have hot water supply continously as the heater capacity was 1.5 litres only, no options for breakfast and dinner, waterlogged bathrooms, no lifts which was needed as my room in the homestay was in the third floor, no readily available private transport services for sight seeing as the homestay was 4km away from the city. My holiday was ruined due to this act of goibibo and hotel for which they are answerable. Some nights I had to walk the 4 km from mall road darjeeling due to unavailability of taxi. Imagine the physical and mental agony myself, my wife and two infant kids one three years old and one five years old had to undergo while walking in the pitch dark cold nights in Darjeeling. The amenities provided where no hot water supply, waterlogged bathrooms, no breakfast options let alone complimentary breakfast. In short, as made my holidays into helldays I will never forget, I regret having taken the option of booking rooms If there is a possibility of sueing and hotel, I would like to know my options.
