Working tirelessly with government organizations, shepherds, and nomadic communities, he became a guardian of the highlands, deeply connected to its land and people.During annual breaks from his veterinary duties, he would spend a month freelancing as a trekking guide, leading small groups of foreigners into the untouched wilderness. These immersive journeys sleeping under the stars, eating traditional meals, and sharing stories with locals planted the seed for a bigger dream: to offer the world a glimpse into the authentic soul of Sikkim.Now retired, Passang brings this dream to life through The Highlanders, a homestay that offers not just lodging, but an experience rooted in tradition, sustainability, and heartfelt hospitality.
