I checked in around 9.50pm. As the cafe was closed I had to go out to have food. When I returned the door of Zostel was closed from outside and there was no way to contact someone. I tried contacting the phone number received during booking (I think it's a centralised contact number which was showing Delhi)and that also was not connecting. After some time another family came and they were also stuck outside. Time was 11 pm and no one was there at reception. After some time a guy (working staff)from outside came, maybe hearing our voice and opened the door. When we asked why the door was closed, his reply was 'he had to sleep'. I felt it strange because for the first time I experienced something like this. Never ever a hotel/dorm close from outside at night while the customers are there. Usually hotels close doors or gates from inside during night time, but there will be someone at reception(even if they will be sleeping). What if someone had some major health issues during night time? Very irresponsible behaviour from Zostel Gangtok Team

CAUTIONS:1. Don't believe the OVERHYPE2. It's Far away from MG Marg or BAJRA taxi stand. You have to pay a lot for a taxi to travel around. The location is Disaster.3. Food is Super COSTLY here. Will not find anything to have near.4. very Small, NO Wardrobe or Storage available at all for Deluxe rooms.5. Taps in the Bathroom are Horrible. Very Old.6. LOTS OF NOISE in the terrace. Loud music evening onward.7. 2 persons cant sleep together in the bed they Provided in Semi Delux room.COMPLETELY OVERHYPED AND EXPENSIVE PLACE

The property is great. Staff is great. View is perfect. Dorms are super clean and comfortable. Just don't book any tour from here! Had to wait for 2 hours at the taxi stand when I booked the Nathula pass day trip with them. And due to that I was stuck in a jam and the entry was closed when we reached! That was basically just waste of time and money.

Had an amazing experience there. The food was good and the working culture was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it for a stay. As a solo traveler, I enjoy exploring new places, trying local cuisines, and immersing myself in different cultures. It's an amazing way to discover yourself and create unforgettable memories! 😊✈️🌍

The whole concept and outlook of Zostel is very good, cleanest Zostel out of all and area wise quite big. However, rules are not followed by customers very strictly further the food quality is not up to the mark

Zostel is very decent. But it should have fan in the room as there is no AC. also they should give mosquito repellent. It was okay. need improvement in room and bathroom

Zostel was beautifully maintained and had nice view from rooftop. Also staffs were very cooperative and helping. If you are traveling alone then it is meant for you.
