- Omkareshwara temple
The Omkareshwar Temple is a symbol of belief, devotion and faith. Legend has it that the then ruler of Kodagu, Lingarajendra II had murdered an innocnet Brahmin, the reasons for which are not clearly known. The Brahmin had turned into a spirit to avenge his death and the king to save himself from the clutches of the spirit had got a special lingam installed at the spot of the crime which was brought all the way from Kashi. The temple was built later in 1820.
