Staynest Tara Palace Gangtok - 300 Mtr from Mall Road

There are some pros and some cons which made the experience with mixed feelings. Pros: 1) Very spacious room (Mine was the suite room) 2) Proximity of the hotel from MG Marg is 5 minutes walking distance making it very convenient. 3) View of Kanchenjunga from the balcony of the room made the stay even fabulous. 4) Bed was clean, electric kettle was clean and functioning, adequate tea kits were being provided, towels were clean. Cons: 1) The hotel restaurant and bar was not operational. 2) The room in general was not clean except those mentioned in pros section, ie. flooring, furniture, bathroom flooring, balcony flooring and balcony seats, sofas, dining tables, chairs etc. were not clean. I was told by the hotel staffs that the hotel was running on skeleton staff support due to change in ownership being in progress. 3) Balcony door lock was not working. 4) Hot water facility was for limited time, ie. 6:00am to 9:00am and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, making it inconvenient. The experience was good as a family stay; in fact it could have been outstanding, but in reality it was not up to the mark considering the tariff of the rooms.

I along with my mom stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The room was decent, spacious, and reasonably priced considering the location. Room service was good and responsive. However, there were a few areas that need improvement. • Light cut-offs happened a little too frequently during our stay. • Key cards were not provided, which was inconvenient. • Toiletries were not properly given; we had to ask for basic items. • The restaurant service was quite slow, and there was no buffet breakfast option available. • The bathroom could use a deep cleaning, as there were noticeable stains. Overall, a comfortable stay but some basic facilities and services could be better managed.

one of the worst hotel in gangtok. no water for more than 15hrs. property sales manger is the worst person to talk if you have issues. he will blame you for your issues and he will not listen to your problems you faced in his property. he tells people to shift at different property after 11pm after complaining multiple times for water. front lobby people lying on face. definitely not gonna recommend this hotel for a stay if you are married or un married couple or family with kids because this property sales manager will ask you to checkout at middle of the night at a hill station.

other than location, nothing is worth the money they are charging.... rooms are old and walls dirty..most of the amenities not present....no tv, no ac remote....shouting sounds in corridors throughout the night...no packaged drinking water... pathetic restaurant and in room service... even exhaust was not working and they did nothing in my 3 days stay don't get fooled by the pictures....
