Made in the memory of her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg, it was constructed in 1622-1628 CE. Mirza Ghiyas Beg was Jahangir’s wazir (chief minister) and Lord of the treasury. Jahangir honoured him with the title, Itimad-ud-daulah which means ‘Pillar of the Government’.
