  • Jama Masjid

    One of the main attractions of Fatehpur Sikri, Diwan-i-Aam or Hall of Public Audience used to be the place where the Mughal emperor Akbar allowed common people to visit him and discussed their problems. It was basically a court of justice where the emperor pronounced punishment for the people guilty of any offense.

  • Itimad-ud-Daulah's Tomb

    Situated on the eastern bank of the Yamuna, the tomb was built by Nur Jahan, wife of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Made in the memory of her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg, it was constructed in 1622-1628 CE. Mirza Ghiyas Beg was Jahangir’s wazir (chief minister) and Lord of the treasury. Jahangir honoured him with the title, Itimad-ud-daulah which means ‘Pillar of the Government’.
